Primal Wear, Inc is a cycling apparel company located in Denver, Colorado. I was hired as an intern at Primal in 2012 and fulfilled a one year internship. My work at Primal included everything from information design to proofing prints before they were sent to production to jersey design. I had the privilege of designing a few jerseys which were sold at Sports Authority, REI and Performance Cycle retailers. My skill range and technical awareness increased quickly while working at primal because alongside my responsibilities of design, I was to have templates and mockups completed in a short amount of time, so I learned to work as quickly and efficiently as possible.

While interning at Primal Wear, Inc. this was the first jersey I ever designed with the instruction of designing a jersey "however I wanted" so I used art from a painting I had created a few years prior to use as the art on the back of the jersey (the abstract fish) and much to my delight, this jersey was also chosen by Performance Cycle and Sports Authority to be sold in their stores.

The instruction on creation of this jersey was to create something with feminine flair and an edgy look. I chose to give the jersey a mild contrast, busy back with a simple, clean front. Dragonflies move quickly and swiftly as do cyclists while they're racing. I wanted to mimic the movement of the cyclist through the movement of the quick, fluttering dragonflies. This jersey can be found at REI and Performance Cycle.

While interning at Primal Wear, Inc. I was asked to design a jersey with feminine flair and fun colors. I chose to portray dandelions because of how interested I am in the movement the seeds make when blowing in the wind. This jersey ended up being chosen by Sports Authority and sold in stores.
